Applied for a really nice place today. Oh god I hope I get it. Oh god I hope I do.
It's this place.

There were like 20 people at the open house today though, I don't know how well we'll do.

Good luck on house/apartment hunting, everyone!

As for me, I am still in my tiny apartment, but I have added the girlfriend to the lease. She has moved all of her things in and now I have /too much stuff in the apartment. Thankfully it will lessen my financial burden considerably.

However, OMG FREAKOUTS I AM LIVING WITH MY GIRLFRIEND.

I was going to post this in the photo thread but Lunch+box started posting apartment stuff here.

Crappy pics of my neat new apartment.  My camera sucks and doesn't do it justice at all.  There are 4 main rooms, a living room/dining room area, kitchen, another room and a bedroom.  This is a huge step up for me and for the first time in my life I won't be renting a squalid little apartment for cheap.

They left a ton of cleaning stuff behind.  I am going to use it until they cart it away.

An actual Hallway.  A first for me.

My new bedroom actually has another closet in addition to this one.

Nice Sink

What the hell?  I am going to have to do something about this shower curtain.  Crystals?

PS-  I don't want you internet females to make that last pic into a background for your computer.  I know why you would want to, but it won't work because both:

A.- The pic is too small.

B.- That would be creepy as hell.

I have no idea where I'm going to live during July; I've emailed someone about renting a room for the month but I'll also need to earn some money to afford that so I've applied to work as a punt tour guide. Fingers crossed!

MrBlu, are you alright? I've been reading the news and shit is going down in your area. It sounds pretty dramatic.

it's already caught on

whenever one of my friends has a day where everything goes wrong they start off their story by telling me "today i had a maiada day"

whenever one of my girlfriends embarasses herself in front of the boy she likes she " had a maiada moment"

falling for a boy who turns out to be insane is "pulling a maiada"

i wish i was joking :\

Every step of my existence is a walk of shame.

I saw the apartment! It's a tiny little one bedroom but it has a walk-in closet (so no dresser!) and a counter separating the living room area from the kitchenette (so no table!). Also the shower stall is bigger than the claustrophobia inducing one we have here.

It's nothing compared to what other people have but holy fuck I will be living on my own.

Hey, that sounds like my apartment except I don't have a walk in closet or a counter, so I have both a dresser, table and basically no floor space at all! Having your own place is the best thing though, even though it's small.

Guys, just to clear things up, I wasn't complaining about a Mexican place being own and run by Mexicans, I was saying that this is the best trait! Better than stuffy old white ladies who don't know what they are doing! And I was slightly complaining that it is forever far away(ok, 45mintures to an hour), but even that is not so bad! And I wasn't complaining about the tiny place because its dirty! I know a lot of places are sometimes better that way. I never trust a fried chicken place that isn't dirty.

I saw Android Lust last night at goth night! They let us in despite calling the police on us the last time we went! I had a blast, and Shikhee is so tiny and pretty. I saw an old friend too and that was cool, and talked to some guy who makes customer leather stuffs, and there was a guy there(who is always there) and he was looking at some rocks with a flashlight, and he always wears a real fox tail, and some ears, and in our drunken state my boyfriend said we should run pass him and shout "THE QUICK BROWN FOX JUMPS OVER THE LAZY DOG!" but of course we did not because that would be rude. However, we giggled about it a lot. And there was a guy there, who kept staring us all down(probably be cause we were not all gothed up. I was originally kinda gothed up, but then decided I'd rather dress like Enid Coleslaw, so I did, and my boyfriend said it was too hot to goth up, and it was, and our friend that came with us just had a c-section not too long ago, and is actually still staying at the hospital, and we just busted her out for a night, so she didn't really want to goth it up either) but this guy was wearing a full length lace dress(as in, I think he took a big piece of lace, and draped it over himself, and cut holes for his arms and head), red velvet thigh highs, bejeweled black slippers, a black shoulder length wig, and big black wings. Oh! Also a pair of black lace undies, that I think I also have. He did not appreciate us at all. And he kept bumping his wings into me.

At one point in the night, we were at the (very crowded)bar and our friend moved near my boyfriend, and inbetween this dude(who was wearing white shorts, and had a white shirt draped over his shoulder, and I think came there because it is a gay bar regularly and on Mondays it is goth night, and I don't think he knew about Mondays) and she didn't even touch the dude and he started getting in her face, and she just turned around, and then I was a little drunk, and we walked away from the bar, near the dance floor, and the dude came over there, and was standing pretty close to us, closer than I'd stand to someone I was tried fighting with, and me being kinda drunk also means that I get kinda ballsy and dude was rude to us, so I was kinda thinking about telling him to move along, but I did not, but later my boyfriend and I discussed this, and decided that we would have summoned our animal friends for help, which meant we would have shouted the quick brown fox thing, and then "BACAW"ed for the bird man. Thus of course resulted in lols as well.

And of course, Triplesix was there, and she made her boyfriend wear an Alice costume, and he didn't look very happy. In fact, he just sat in a chair all night. And she kept holding her mound of hair on her head because it was very very very hot, and if you do not know her, she has a lot of yarn-y hair.

And there was this group of juggalos and they were standing at the bar while we were closing our tab, and were trying to get people to "woot woot" but no one was, and of course I was very drunk at this point, and I wanted to ask the girl if she was religious, and also shout back "Fucking magnets! How do they work?" or explain them for them, but I did not because I don't want goth night to call the police on us again.

Today I went to see a black metal musical. It was kind of weird and kind of awesome at the same time. Gaahl, the lead singer from Gorgoroth if any of you are into black, played a rather minor part and provided backup vocals, and was fucking great. The guy belongs on stage. The rest of the people on the stage ranged from rather good to goodish at best, but overall the musical was thrilling, the stenography and music worked, and the whole thing was real fun. It's a genre that can be expanded with good success.

That's why I want to move to Brockport!

Here's the thing - I live in a town of about 5,000. Probably less. Meanwhile, Brockport has about 9,000 people, a bunch of awesome stores, and is really fucking  close to Rochester NY where there's actually things like goth nights and there's things I can do when I'm stuck awake all night instead of going up a wall.

While I agree that is does suck that something awesome got covered up, I don't agree with this "By covering up the mural, the perpetrator is demonstrating that there are still people in the world who have a fear of artistic and free expression..." Because painting over someone else's painting isn't freely expressing yourself? Yeah, it is totally rude and it sucks, and its pretty balls that they did that, but maybe that is how they freely express themselves, and maybe that is their artistic statement. Maybe they are commenting on society being a police state or something.

I think Sam did it.

And I mean, its just kind of dumb to abloo bloo bloo because someone graffitied over your graffiti.

I just think its dumb to say it isn't artistic because it isn't pretty, or that they aren't expressing themselves because its just blank. They just expressed their dislike for that dude's paintings. Freely.

An art teacher once told me "it isn't art unless I want to hang it in my home" and I gotta call bullshit.

It just stupid because it implies that art is beautiful, and pretty to look at. This is not always the case. Art can be pretty, but it can also be ugly, and horrifying, and in bad taste. It can be abound pushing buttons and boundaries and about soothing souls, and looking nice. Its just motherfucking art. Its as abstract in its interpretations as it is in some of it's paintings and sculptures.

But here are a few other things to point out about this story: So I commented that maybe they covered up this painting as a way of saying something about our society being a police state, and will I was mostly joking, looking at the content of what was covered up(it shows a police man holding a nightstick up and pointing towards to viewer under the word "Obey" and also says "Obey Never trust your own eyes believe what you are told"), it kinda makes me wonder if the new "artist" was taking it a step further and demonstrating what happens when you don't obey, or they are fighting, and not obeying(which isn't that what the original artist was trying to convey? A feeling of unrest, and rebellion?) by covering up/destroying a coveted piece of the oppressive society.

Or as my mom points out, maybe the original artist is doing it himself in order to gain publicity.

They don't serve coffee at goth night, they serve jello shots made of everclear in plastic syringe looking things.
