BUILD a guitar??
NotAFanOfFenders:
Seriously, tdpri is the best site to get advice for builds.
DMart:
My brother (a cabinet maker by trade) did this a few years ago. Results were pretty damn good - if you look for previous posts by me I think I put some pics of it in the guitar thread a long time ago OK so I did not do that but I think I can do that.
He had access to a CNC mill, so that helped a LOT with making sure things like the frets were accurate. Plus, since he was doing his apprenticeship at the time, he did it as his final project and got paid while he was making it, plus got all the materials payed for (not the electronics though).
I play in a band with him (and 3 others), and it's the only guitar he uses now. The thing sounds great and looks a treat too.

Speaking of guitarfetish, have you thought of http://store.guitarfetish.com/somasgkicowi.html
I CAN DIVIDE BY ZERO:

I actually ordered that exact one! Well not exactly, I got the 'damaged' one which was cheaper ($110 instead of the $170 of the original kit), and it only had some slight discoloration and a bit of water damage! Nothing that can't be worked around of course.

I bet that CNC certainly did help. Done right, I'm sure it could take care of all the hard stuff in one run(or a few, depending on how meticulous one wants to be). Also, YES do post pictures, because everyone likes custom guitars. Right? right.

I haven't done a WHOLE lot of digging on the site, but from what I've seen HOLY CRAP they're good...

How's the build coming?
