Slick if you do it get the emerald 386 hacked rom. That way you can get all the pokemon from generations one to three (all 386 of them) without all the tedium.

It took a bit of self restraint to not point out that they were digimon, I'm not gonna lie.

I remember watching cartoons as a kid and thinking Digimon was way more personal feeling to me that Pokemon ever could be, because you got one digimon, a counterpart to yourself, as opposed to trying to catch 150 of them or some bullshit. Then the second season came out and I thought "well this is shit" and went on to the next show, Big bad Beetle Borgs, which in turn was a ripoff of Power Rangers.

Yeah, those are the only two from both series that look even remotely alike, but only because they are orange dino-like creatures. I mean, I watched both series for a while and enjoyed both, but really, they aren't that similar other than there are kids that have pet-like critters that fight other critters.

I remember when I was 10 I read an article on a pokemon site about how a teenage girl lured a 10 or something year old boy, using a pokemon card, and then performed sexual acts on him.

Being 10 all I knew from that article is that a kid my age had some form of sexual relation with an older girl, which I thought was rad.

Not so much now though.

These two posts perfectly encapsulate my feelings on the Pokemon vs. Digimon debate. However, my love for Digimon was restricted to the TV series whereas with Pokemon, I played the card and video games excessively.

I've never heard of Dino-riders before but that picture is not uncool at all, it is the most amazing thing ever and I'm so disappointed in everyone that this show is not a number 1 hit everywhere.

Should've had Elodie Bouchez in it.

It would've been a show about a dinosaur running away from home and finding that life on the streets of Lyon is pretty tough, but that the little moments of happiness in everyday life and occasional moments of kindness from strangers can help to temporarily keep the despair at bay. It would've been beautiful and heartbreaking all at once. There might've been a sexually ambiguous dinosaur from Algeria or Senegal in it.

The Digimon show was much easier to get emotionally invested in because it had conflict and the characters had interesting relationships. Game-wise, of course, it's all about the Pokemon.

Just as a point of reference, Gobots came first. I remember when Transformers first came out a friend and I having a conversation about how badly they were ripping the Gobots off. Next thing you know... Transformers had total market share. Never quite figured out how that happened since they were essentially the same thing. Better toys, I guess.
