I think what's happening when Hanners has those "outbursts" (like in panel 3A), she's channeling her mom's domineering side. Her genuine concern for other people might be something that came from one of her nannies... or maybe Daddy Chatham is really just a big ol' softie?

True, all kinds are horrible. But this rejection was so bad that I am convinced I was in a plan to see if a human can die from awkwardness.
