Near Lurker, that may be the case now, but I know I had the devil's own time finding the spelling two-three years ago, enough so that I stuck it in a textfile where I keep words that are difficult to look up. The key problem is that I, like whoever came up with the misspelling Akronnick is using, had, was that i thought it was o-n-a, not o-n-o (after I put that in, my mac's dictionary yielded it up). I see now that quite a few sites actually reference the misspelling Akronnick employs—in fact, Wikipedia has it set up as an alias to the page for the correct spelling of the word—which tells me many people have had similar problems.

I tried Google's auto-complete and that's what it came up with, but the consensus of the links failed to yield a clearly correct spelling.
That's when I said 'fuck-it' and decided to spell it [puts on sunglasses] onamonapoetically.

I don't know, I remember bickering in the nineties with my father over whether it was "o-no-mah-to-poe-ia" or "o-no-mat-o-poe-ia," and we're not exactly linguists.
