Dora shows again that she has the wisdom to do exactly the right thing. At least she's able to. In this case she had to compensate for having threatened Hannelore about Marten in number 635.

I'm really hoping this is true character development on Hanners' part and not some temporary plot device that's going to go away and turn her back into her totally neurotic self.
Hanners' neurotic behavior has been the source of some good comedy, but long-term character development is always good. One thing I've always been able to appreciate about QC (and one of the reasons it continues to be my favorite web comic) is that Jeph does a good job of making his characters feel real. They may be very self-aware, but they develop and improve over time. Hanalore could only be super-neurotic for so long before it got stale, so it's cool that Jeph's taking things in a slightly different direction with her before we reach that point.
