I'm sorry I didn't pay much attention earlier on in this thread, I'm guessing you're using Canada's Working Holiday thing? Are you just travelling through the US on a tourist visa?

I had trouble in my engineering course at uni when I bought an American book on fluid dynamics and proceeded to use the conversion tables in the back - all my answers were 20% out because I was using the wrong sort of gallon!
