Let me sleep on yr couch
Dazed:
You really should go to Colorado/Utah.
They have this stuff there
ETC ETC ETC.
There is so much beautiful/awesome stuff in Colorado and Utah it's kind of absurd.
Alex C:
Really, I'm pretty much destined to move there at some point. I spent enough time there as a kid to know that I love it.
I think the big thing is the weather and the scenery. Colorado as a whole is just milder than Minnesota is yet they still have all four seasons. You still get snow, but most of the state just hovers around freezing instead of being practically forced to shut down state wide for a week or two every year. Basically, if you go in August, the weather will be somewhere between 70-85 degrees and the odds of getting rained out of a great time is pretty much slim to none. You would have to be incredibly lame or the unluckiest person on the planet not to enjoy yourself.
StaedlerMars:
That, plus there is pretty great snow mountain situations in Colorado. Which is a massive plus in my book.
Also, I can probably talk to my brother if you need a place to crash in Montreal. He's pretty cool, and has a 8 person flat, and they brew their own beer, have house gigs, and regular movie screenings. In fact, he's probably one of the coolest guys I know. So yeah, even if you don't end up crashing there, he's probably a good guy to meet up with and hang out.
KvP:
If you're coming up through Colorado through the South, you can hit Kiff / The Springs and then come up through Denver to Fort Collins, where I live, and stay here. You can pretty much just go north along the Rockies to where they stretch into Canada.
I would suggest heading West from NOLA, maybe seeing Sam in Austin, then coming up to CO from around Amarillo, but that seems a bit out of the way.
Emaline:
Well, if you end up coming to St. Louis, there's two super comfy couches you and your lady could sleep on here. Possibly a bed.
Also, the best place for Chicago dogs is the Weiner Circle. They insult you/talk super dirty while making your hot dog, and they are fantastic. One of the only things I will actually eat pickles on.
