I'm honestly surprised more people aren't licensing CryEngine in comparison to Source or UE3. There's gameplay footage of Crysis 2 that came out of last week's GameTrailers TV that looks goddamn amazing. And it's the 360 version, no less. I wonder if Epic is just more aggressive with marketing their tech.

Might have to do with art pipelines. I guarantee you the amount of effort it takes to build a level with Cryengine is more than what it takes to build in UE3.

Has anyone questioned whether this image is actually legitimate? Everyone is going crazy about it, and it looks quite real...but it could quite easily be faked. Episode 1 was the one were you saved the chick, while episode 2 was the one with the long car ride, right?

Yes, in a nutshell. Although the chick is such a bullet sponge it wasn't a case of "saving" so much as "using her as a distraction".
