Spanish rice is basically a cheap bastardization of paella. If you are in Spain, all you need to know to eat and drink is paella and sangria. Every place will sell those things and every place does it a little different.

We didn't even use spanish rice. We got italian instead.

Like I mean Alex I am always open to be educated but I look at paella I look at "Spanish" rice and I am thinking that is kind of what is happening there.
Not to crap on spanish rice at all, I love the stuff, but it seems pretty much like it is a weak form of paella.
