Or maybe Sven takes him on in a Highlander style battle to the death? Not like the slap fight with Marten, but full swords flailing and creative lighting.

Now that movie was god-awful, even sitting in Stallone's body of work.

Of the Bianchis, best I recall, only one didn't ninja-grope Faye in some fashion. And I don't recall Faye ever looking this happy when any of them had hold of her fundament.

As for buses taking Angus out of the picture, I don't think Jeph does Deus Machina ex Machina-style stuff, with the possible exception of Deathbot 9000. And maybe the BFbot. Anyway, no one has died 'onstage' in QC unless you count Faye's father, which I don't, since it occurred in a flashback. So Angus' survival seems pretty likely.

My comment on Monday's comic got stuck in the other thread, so i have to add it here:

QuoteDAMMIT THIS COMIC IS SO DAMN SWEEEEEEEET AND CUUUUUUTE

i want that   :-(

dammit, I've got to get out there again and meet some nice ladies.  Haven't been on a date in almost a year. Probably not the best thing for a guy who just turned 32.

As for today's comic: another gem.  Faye finally frees herself of the guilt and the what-ifs re: Marten.  That question... is everything.  It feels like she finally understands that things worked out the way they were supposed to.  I can see herself beating herself up over the potential that she was unable to realize with Marten.  Not consciously, but it was probably always there in the back of her head.  But now she is finally able to completely move on, and be happy.

Yeah, I think it really worked. And I guess it leaves things open to switch to CoD or Angus tomorrow.

I'm eagerly awaiting some sort of Steve Lukather reference if Jeph is gonna Totofy the comic.

Poor Marten. Confused? Totoly. Today's comic exceptionally excellent IMHO.

So much time was spent making Sven a foil for Marten... a skinny indie rock nerd, a guitar-player and songwriter, a connection to Dora, even a similar sense of humour.  Except, of course, he was an amoral, womanising asshole version of Marten.  Yes, one with a soul who can be nice and charming and has feelings, but he was always put up as sort of an Anti-Marten.  He never really formed any attachment with the rest of the gang, and aside from occasionally hanging out with his siter and bumping uglies with Faye, didn't interact with the others except for a few rare occasions.

Angus has been set up from day one to NOT be like Marten.  He's the first guy who seems geniunely unafraid of Faye, can actually hold his own in witty banter, but has none of the music-nerd cred that was basically what started Marten and Faye's friendship.  Instead of following her around with doe-eyes, or doing everything he can think of to get into her pants, he's been perfectly willing since day one to slap her with a sassy retort and walk away, even if he does come back for another round soon after.  He's formed genuine friendships with everyone by being persistent, nice, and just weird enough to fit into their group.

When Faye couldn't form a relationship with Marten, she clearly wasn't over him.  She said as much more than once.  And when she had a weak moment around Sven, she slept with him because he was the closest she could get to the guy she wanted and couldn't have.  And then, when Sven proved he was definitely *not* as decent a guy as Marten, she walked away.  And she kept suffering because she still wasn't over Marten, not really.  But now?  After a date and a goodnight kiss from Angus, she finds that she finally is.

That would explain any number of pictorials, including one I remember from my youth: girl and guitar, together in a hammock. It was an acoustic, a dreadnought. Dear god, it was the same size as she was.

Of course, my thoughts turn from this to old pics of Jimmy Page, shirt open, sweaty, with his Les Paul's neck pointed up.

Dear god, the depravity...

Muhaha, I totally agree, even more so since I just watched episode 21 of Excel Saga, where it's put Up To Eleven (like everything else in the series, really - except in the last episode, where it's put Up To Twelve).

Now, about this "Guitar Porn" thing, it depends of what you call "porn". For example, the website Food Porn Daily, despite having "porn" in its name, is perfectly SFW. It's totally NSFD*, however.

FINALLY!

Pintsize looking at the PC World centerfold cracked me up, as did "Guitar Porn" (which essentially means that Marten and Pintsize were both looking at porn while hanging out together, hmmm), but I really liked Faye ruffling Marten's hair. Awwww.  Kinda surprised Spookbutt isn't already all over Faye asking for details, but maybe that'll be next strip.  Unless we skip to tomorrow.

Also, I am pleased to report that despite QC's Toto-infusion, none of their songs are locked in my head anymore and I'm back to having that song from the end of Futurama's Lethal Inspection in there.

Angus will be mugged and kidnapped, but saved by the Vespavenger, who reveals that she is only there to kick HIS ass for putting down Marigold. A mysterious figure comes to save the day, and is revealed to be...a mysterious figure in Orc cosplay.
Orc-Woman Kicks the shit out of Vespavenger, while her associate, Pizza Girl, breaks through the window and frees Angus. Angus is like 'The fuck is going on' and Pizza Girl takes him into a back alley and revelas the truth about herself and Orc-Woman...That is, Sara and Marigold.

Faye's Dad turns out to be a time traveler, and, after seeing how she becomes with himself there for her, he concludes that the only way to fix it is to convice his future-from-point-of-time-travel self to commit suicide. He goes to the future afterwards, and watches her daughter grow up, but a complication arises...
Due to his holographic image projector, he appears to be a boy about Faye's age. Faye falls in love with him, and Faye's Dad needs to go along with it to perpetuate the illusion. However, a complication arises when Faye gets pregnant.
Angus must explain to Faye that he is her dad, and convinces her to have an abortion.

New drama: does Marten realize he's not over Faye? It's seemed to me like things with Dora have been fizzling, especially after then meh way he reacted to her new hair, and the way she's been all serious/bossy/nag lately... Faye might realize she's over Marten, but now I think the story will be Marten not ready to let go of Faye like that...
