Middlewest Festival?
« on: 27 Aug 2010, 06:19 »

My friend is putting on a festival in DeKalb, IL (about 60 miles out of Chicago) which seems like it is going to be pretty cool.
He got a few pretty awesome acts (i.e. POS, Murder by Death, etc) to play so if anyone is interested in checking it out please do:

(also the band I'm in, joie de vivre, is playing, but I would be mentioning this fest even if we weren't cause I think it'll be pretty sweet)

Yeah, we are planning a tour in October with The Reptilian which will probably be east coast dates, I guess I'll make a new thread when we have them set since it sounds like a few people are interested.

(edit: just looked into poutine... gross!!!haha)

I know I wrote you back (took me forever to see you PMed back)

I WISH I KNEW it's really frustrating cause we didn't have them for our tour in June (despite ordering them from the company in May) and we have yet to hear anything about it and we are supposedly leaving again in Oct, as I mentioned... it will be really stupid if we tour without them but I feel like that may be the case.

As I mentioned in the PM, I will definitely let you know when I know anything for myself.

Ha Ha Tonka is a fun band. They used to be call Amsterband which I liked better but apparently there was some confusion with that name and The New Amsterdams so they changed it. Anyways they put on a really good show, very fun and energetic.

There is also a spectacular beard in the band so they get bonus points. And they do four part harmonies and oh my god it is so good.

I have a friend who feels similarly (thinks we rip American Football and I definitely don't blame either your viewpoint or his at all).

I just play horns so I'm not ripping anyone off ('cept maybe Anathallo!)

I'll have to check out Ha Ha Tonka, by the way.  Thanks!
