Sara comes back: "Hey guys, I'm back, what'd I miss?"

It's solidified into a real curiosity with me; what would Sara look like today, in Jeph's massively-improved modern style?

He's only redrawing strips where the originals were lost, and they'll be side- by-side with the originals in the book.  The first 5 strips are in those, but Sarah didn't show up until strip 9, and wasn't in a lot of strips, so the likelihood that she's been redrawn is pretty low...

Here's Jep's livejournal post explaining the redraws, with an example

Whilst I applaud the sentiment - and welcome it as an opportunity to ensure that at the end of the day I get to tell Mrs. Reiver, "Honey, you won't believe the day I had..."  I'm somewhat certain that the people who pay the bills (namely the taxpayers) may have something to say about it.

And Marten, whilst I recognize that if you're comfortable with it you can wear anything, are you certain that the belt goes with your outfit?

Marten knows the secret of dressing cool: "Hey, whatever I select." Either that ir he wants to see Tai's reaction.

And folks, Trollstormur spotted a snipe, not a sniper. So calm down, getcha a big ol' bag, get set up in a ditch—you know, hunker down, hold it open, an' wait—an' Border an' me'll drive that thing straight to you.

I could be wrong, because I'm too lazy to go look for it, but I think it was all of the first 50 and most of the first 100. So a newly-drawn Sarah would be in there.

intentionally cute vs. unintentionally cute.

No contest, unintentional wins every time!  After all, if you're trying, should it even count?

I think puppy-dog-eyed begging like Marten's reviles me simply because it works so damn  well...

I've looked at it a few times, and I still can't decide if I like that last panel or not. If not for the smile, Marten might be engaged in what Jonathon Swift's Gulliver called discharging "my body of that uneasy load." Also, it seems to have inflated his head.

I thought you were supposed to encourage your children to try. Unless, of course, you're using the word as a 'straight' adjective instead of a participle. Definitely no points should be awarded then.

I sense a great disturbance in the Farce, as if millions of voices suddenly cried out in terror and were suddenly silenced. I fear something terrible has happened. Hello Kitty has added QC to her dark empire.

I have daughters, you see.
How fortunate you are!  :-D

Akina you are absolutely right - daughters give you the opportunity to allow you to guide wonderful human beings in such a way as to make them true blessings to society.

And they give you a really sold reason to buy a shotgun so you can be the overprotective Dad.

Oh dear. Shotguns are so cliché now. Way to live the stereotype!

The modern Overprotective Dad is, of course, all about the psychological warfare; nothing puts the Fear of Dad into a hormonal young man like waking up to find his favourite bike's piston-heads in bed with him...

This is the face of a man who hopes he can get away with something, but is also knows he is at risk of being death-punched.
