...that was my downfall.

My daughter introduced me to XKCD a while ago.  One slow day at work, I was investigating the links, and came upon QC.  The comic of the day was 1724.

Well, the questions were immediate:

Why is it so odd that Hannelore would run an espresso machine?
Why a surprise kiss?
And why did the other characters consider it so dangerous?

I was hooked.  I went back a few days, but realized I'd have to start from the beginning, and went to the archives.  After two very unproductive days at work, and an anti-social evening in between, I had my answers.  Now I wonder what will happen next?

And, on a more personal note, I am rather older than many here.  I'm an IT manager (mainframes  :-o) in north Texas, but originally from Brooklyn, NY.

Now, if only I had one of those special brooms...

All IT managers are welcome here.

Welcome!

jwhouk:
If your birth year does not start with "196", you are NOT the oldest one here.

Welcome, anyways.

zadojla:
My birth year starts with "195".  Does anyone need the last digit?  Unless your birth year starts with "194", you can't win!

celticgeek:
"1940" reporting for duty.
