i moved to vancouver, life's really hard and i work all the time but mostly i am really happy because i really like this city and the people here so overall i think it was a good choice.
how are you, kieffer, how's greece?
Dude, Greece is rad! I'm doing my semester abroad, basically, since I am still only a junior in college despite being like 23 years old(exactly 23 years old) and it's awesome. We spent the first block (my school does 1 class at a time for 3.5 weeks, so you get a semester's worth of information in a month, basically) mostly in Athens but also in the Peloponnesus for a week, town called Nafplion, studying the intersection between ancient greece and british romanticism. 2nd block was with my two favorite professors, who are also my two advisors, studying the overlap between philosophy and poetry in terms of linguistic construction and worldview, phenomenology of poetry, basically. Read a lot of awesome modern greek poets (Cavafy, Seferis, Ritsos, Elytisis, others) read some awesome philosophy (Plato, Heraclitus, Parmenides, Xenakis) and wrote a bunch of pomes too. We were on Lesvos, Crete, then a week in Delphi. Spent some time in a 1000 person village in the mountains of Crete, climbed the tallest mountain on the island, bouldered in the cave where Zeus was born....
Now I'm living in Athens, studying greek until 12/4! It's fucking awesome here but greek is hard but wine is cheap and I finally found the climbing gym so things are going way better than okay. I just need to meet a girl here, haven't gotten laid since last block when half the crew left for Morocco. I did have sex on a 4th story balcony overlooking all of Athens and the Acropolis in a thunderstorm though. That was rad.
