I love music. In my humble oppinion music is the most wonderful thing ever invented ever. Unfortunatly I am musicly ignorant. My friends will occasionaly show me  a good band or musician and I usualy fall in love with there music (my friends have pretty good taste) but sadly they've never had enough time to give me a propper musical education of "Everyone knows all these people are avesome" and "These lesser known bands have music you'd totaly love" and so I turn to you, people of the internet, specificaly of the QC forums because I know there are some simmilaritys in our music tastes. I beseech you, teech me in the ways of awesome music!
I shall list here (in no particular order) the few artists that I know and like and hopefuly from that you may be able to direct me towards others that I would enjoy.
My #1 favorite is and always has been The Beatles.
I also love: Sigur Ros, Oren Lavie, Coldplay, Radiohead, Owl City, Joanna Newsom, Dan le Sac VS Scroobious Pip, Bat for Lashes (though I haven't heard many of there songs and don't know which are good) CocoRosie (Same with them) Regina Spektor, U2 is good, I love listening to Cirque du Soleil soundtracks 'cuz they're AMAZING, Eva Cassidy (she has an angel's voice) and The Rolling Stones are OK, not my faves though,

That being said, it's wise to not take too dogmatic a stance on what "good" music taste is. As you know, there's so much out there and a good bit of variation in what people like and don't like.

as far as other recommendations are concerned, I can see a few patterns in what you like but no one coherent direction, which is fine, but makes it difficult to give concrete recommendations. It does seem you like a few bands who have a very echoey, ethereal, atmospheric sound. this leads me to believe you would probably like bands like this will destroy you and explosions in the sky (both very soundtracky) and then also Caribou who used to be called manitoba and released fantastic music under both names. These also happen to be some of the first bands I found, through this very site, when first exploring independent music. I also get the feeling you'd like Beulah, simply because you'd need brain damage not to love them. I'd start with When your heartstrings break. also listen to tommy.

JD:
The Beach Boys are also worth a look if you love the beatles.
