Professor Snuggles:
This is basically just the emo argument all over again and whatever it's a lost cause let people listen to what sounds good, if they wanna call wobblehouse dubstep and never get on benga and distance and burial and whatever that's their call.
Blackdownsoundboys blog is pretty good, btw. Used to follow it when I was psyched on this shit. Still waiting to get my homies psyched on UK Funky but I doubt it'll ever happen.

Night Slugs just released their first compilation, if that doesn't do it nothing will.
Blackdown's the P4k writer, yeah? I think I follow him on Twitter.

I'm going to go hide in some Triphop and pretend its still edgy. KTHNXBAI.

UK bass music, usually (read: always) at 140 bpm. It's splintered into a million unrelated forms by now, but the original idea was that you had a tension between the high tempo and the half-time ("dubby") feel, and that you'd have really heavy basslines, often with a "wobbly" bass sound. Listen to some Skream tracks and you'll get the idea.

^ that actually helped, thank you!

Yeah, I agree. I like "wobblehouse dubstep" AND the "real" dubstep, thanks in big part to the contributors in this thread. I'm still very selective with it, as I still haven't found many artists that I can say I like all of their stuff, but I don't really care about that, much. I still have a lot more to check out just in this thread.
Thank you to those who have posted stuff. <3
