Dubstep

KvP:
Pretty good electronic music. He seems to be primarily labeled as "post-dubstep" but that could apply to just about anyone these days, so I just take it to mean that his sensibility is fairly distinctive (minimalist R&B + Burial-ish voice manipulation = ?). You don't see a lot of electronic singer-songwriters these days.

De_El:
Skrillex is more or less the height of trashy wobblehouse and not very interesting, but that said i wouldn't be offended or aghast if i found myself unknowingly dancing to his shit at a party

James Blake is just great. It's not every day a great producer comes on the scene who can actually sing, and well. Fun-fact: some silly fuck tagged him as "post-genre" on Wikipedia.

Insignificant:
So... Not precisely dubstep, but how does anyone feel about Kevin Martin (The Bug)?

KvP:
The Bug is dubstep. He's arguably the progenitor of the genre going back into the late 90's.

He's very good.

I am experiencing similar confusion others share in this genre, but really, really like what James Blake I have heard (someone was kind enough to put his stuff in last years M/F thread).  I also just started listening to edIT which is pretty cool, but seems to fall in the "no one is really being clear on if it is dub or some other kind of electronic music" thing I have been coming across which makes this a verry difficult style of music to really "break into"/"get into."
