We love our pets!

I usually just play with my cats by tossing toys to/at them, and then grabbing them and tickling their tummies. And then they eat my hand. Or I move a hand or foot around under the blankets, and they chase.

One of my cats goes nuts over pencils, of all things. Sticks, pens, rulers, whatever have no effect, but a pencil (has to be yellow and black striped) sends them wild.
The other one just lies on the back of the sofa and headbutts people.

Cat game my friend proposed: Build an arena (cat scale) with obstacles and paths suitable for cats and mice. There's a mouse scale exit somewhere in the arena with some cheese. Mice that make the exit shall be well fed for the rest of their tiny little lives. The cats will be entertained either way.
That said I know it's better for some predatory animals to have live prey, for the mental state and what have you. I wonder if any one's studied the benefits of a live diet on house cats?
