Darq E Freaker - Cherryade EP
--- Quote ---Third drop from Oil Gang, featuring the massive 'Cherryade' from 'Next Hype' producer, Darq E Freaker. Basically, it's all about the A-side, romping hard for the DJs and MCs with his signature punching stabs recycled over burly, swaggering drums and serrated bass slashes. The flipside tracks are a bit gash, but we're not complaining when you've got that A-side. TIP!

Various - Quadrant EP
--- Quote ---A BIG look from Oil Gang, dropping four ballistic Grime instrumentals from Spooky, Darq E Freaker, Mistayif and Splurt. We just can't get over Splurt's devastating 'The Return VIP (Mega Remix)', and it would appear that Starkey and Mosca have the same feelings, with Starkey wheeling it twice on a recent radio show! Also up there is Darq E Freaker's classic cut-up 'Rhythm & Slags', a sidewinding romp from Sppoky on 'Over Capacity' and the string-loaded 'Fortress Riddim' from Mistayif. Fiyah!

Spooky - Murderer EP
--- Quote ---Burly grime four-tracker from Oil Gang's Spooky. Grime fiends will certainly know the Barrington Levy-sampling 'Murderer' from the essential Butterz Fact mix by Elijah & Skilliam, but the madness doesn't stop there, as the crushing 'Devil Within' unloads mammoth riffage harnessed by a concrete half-step riddim recently used by D Double E as the instrumental for his 'Bassline Murder' cut. On the flip matters get serious with the broken 4/4 lunge of his Iron Gates remix of Werewolf and finally the febrile attack of his Maniac-styled 'Peach Rings'. Aces.

It's not of the best audio quality, but it's legit.

Linkwood Family / Intrusion - Miles Away (Intrusion Dubs)
--- Quote ---If there was any one remix project we'd imagine you lot to have a coronary over, it'd be this. Steve Hitchell aka Intrusion aka 0.5 of Deepchord takes on Linkwoods biggest track 'Miles Away' with two utterly sublime and heartwarming renditions set to soundtrack fuzzy summer moments across the world in the coming months. 'Sunset Dub' and 'Sunrise Dub' take the source material from Linkwood and reduce it till the funk juice evaporates and you're left with a richly aromatic residue of slow heaving analog subbass and gaseous chord sequences to elevate the soul. Each element of the original from the arcing sax lines to the disembodied vocals are treated with such care and due diligence, given acres of space to unfurl and make their presence felt before sinking back into padded atmospheres like some dreamy apparition. The man has truly concocted something very special here and if you were touched by his Seduction Of Silence set this will probably be some sort of religious experience. Just a friendly warning; there are only 1000 copies of this for the world, with screen printed sleeves and hand stamped centre labels pressed onto lush heavyweight vinyl, meaning they ain't gonna last...
