Deadboy - Here

--- Quote from: boomkat ---Heart-poundingly potent discoid garage infusions from the one like Deadboy! It's kinda hard to believe, considering his impact on the scene, but this is only Deadboy's second official solo release, besides his bagful of remixes for the likes of Creep, Andy Bell and Delphic. His sound pretty much defined the last 12 months, hitting a stride of sensually Housed-up Garage which owes as much to Miami as South London, and pretty much correlates with the upturn in MDMA quality over the same period. The eye-fluttering synth alleviations of 'Wish U Were Here' are perfectly paced and programmed for the lushest '95-'11 buzz, while 'Here 4 U' gives more drums and hypnotic repetitions for the swingers and 'Ain't Gonna Lie' takes the mood more intimate and slinky hipped. That lead track is gonna be the soundtrack to this summer, we reckon. Highly recommended!

Lando Kal - Further/Time Out

--- Quote from: boomkat ---Lando Kal, best known as half of Lazer Sword, steps forth with a cyber-fresh solo debut. Face-first, 'Further' tucks into HD hyper-step mode, swinging on an original US Garage rhythm buffed with silicon-fine finish and robo-dextrous edits for cutting-edge appeal. Turn it over and 'Time Out' embarks on some more discombobulated business, synching the groove between flickering, Juke-like drum timbres and full-sunken, batty-swiping subs before an aquatic 4/4 resolution and back to the twysted roll-out. Most notably, he's put his own uniquely cyber-spacious and tricky spin on a well tried style, and in the end sounds like himself. Ace.

Roska - Error Code

--- Quote from: boomkat ---Roska returns to Hot Flush with two crucial technoid Funky evolutions. 'Error Code' is his solo outing since last years eponymous album and features a marked diversion into more electroid, night-shiny productions. That title track is built with his trademark clipped drums and dippin' subs, but this time they're foreshadowed against gleaming electro synthlines and elegantly ascending pads. Sticking with the steely futurist vibe, the dapper minimalism of 'Abrupt' works with skeletal drums powered by toned and muscular subs while droning synths hover and scout the perimeters. We'll be playing this one for a while - big big EP.

Algernon Cadwallader - Parrot Flies

That's motherfucking right, theres a goddamn new Algernon Cadwallader album. This is the only album you need this summer. Laying around in a park smokin dope? Going to the beach? Getting shitfaced at the pool hoping nobody kicks you out? Grilling goddamn burgers like a dude? Then spin the fuck out of this. This sounds a bunch like Some Kind of Cadwallader, which came out 3 years ago, but 10 million times radder. Algernon's style has evolved really goddamn nicely. This is the best goddamn thing they've done. In fact, this is one of the best goddamn emo albums I have heard, straight up ever. This is better than Goes Canoeing, the new Monument, and I goddamn love Monument. Super rad, super twinkly jams on this shit. Get into it and if you don't, you legitimately suck as a human being. This album is better than you.
