What I want to know is, in the old days when you could break the forum with a single post of suitable extravagance and depravity, if you'd hid such a post behind a spoiler tag would the spoiler tag also have protected the forum until the post was revealed?

I guess what I'm asking is is the spoiler tag like a condom for the internet.
