yeah reverse hipster is more than just not knowing what something is, that's not reverse anything. that's just pretending to be weirdly ignorant in a way no normal person actually would be. it's an opposite game, you gotta be clever about it and think about the specific types of things hipsters wouldn't say or do based on what they would say or do.

Fuck Macs, in about 3 weeks its going to be all about Linux on 7" notebooks that you get off of ebay from a Chinese company. THAT will be the cool hipster thing to do.

I never said not knowing stuff was okay to do, but man there don't need to be so many rules for this game. Its pretty much touch and go. Like I said before, I'm not sure if hipsters is just an entirely American term that is slightly permeating other western societies but not to a very large extent. I honestly never hear anybody saying that word here in England, and hey, Canterbury is probably a fairly "hipster" place to be. Topman right next to H&M which is opposite River Island which sits adjacent to Republic.

I supppose if Skins is anything to go by then technically English hipsters look like colour clashing (mostly) skinny characters wearing tank tops over polo shirts, top buttons done up, etc. At high school doing that sort of thing was the nerdiest thing you could ever do; 3 years later its the fashion.

South-East tends to be anything. Chavs will literally call you anything that comes into their adidas striped brains. But I guess we're only just starting to use "scene" as a definition of character around here. Hence, mostly just called twats.

I feel like "emo" had its day, but perhaps not. They probably still exist in whatever form you thought they took, but I tend to be more open minded about stuff like that now really. Just turn it into an insult, then its fine.

God I love how University gets me away from the actual reality of groups in society. Here everyone just gets on with everyone else; once you're a student, you're a collective and everyone else hates you.
