The way I learned it is it can be said either way. EE-ther or I-ther. I think I say it both ways? But I think I-ther is more dominant? Maybe?

Technically, the word comes from german, and since ei is pronounced "eye" in german, you could argue for that. However, language evolves, so *shrug*.

I think I say i:'-ðər and aɪ'-ðər about equally, but almost always naɪ'-ðər. Whatevs. Just don't say pee-can.

i say it as pee-can. Saying it the other way makes you sound like an idiot. Don't really care if it is not the original way of saying it, so whatever.
