What I find intriguing is that neither Jim nor Dora thinks it remarkable there is an altercation/martial arts demonstration/what have you between their respective employees/friends as they speak.

True, but in that instance, (which wasn't the first time Faye and Penelope came to blows) there was an actual disagreement which led to the exchange. Here, Faye seems to be manhandling Padma at random, and what's more, Padma is commenting on the verbal exchange between Jim and Dora and not even reacting to Faye trying to re-engineer her upper extremity.
