Tanksenior:
Looks like both Jim and Dora are used to that kind of nonsense from their employees, though Jim doesn't look like the patient-est person to me.
hannahsaurusrex:
Silver fox is indeed similar to a male cougar but not exactly the same. Silver foxes (at least with my experience) normally don't pursue younger women, they are simply so elegant and awesome younger women/men flock to them. Also the whiter the hair, the Foxier they get.
Real life examples both gay and straight include: Cary Grant, George Clooney, Anderson Cooper, Tim Gunn (even though he's celebate everyone wants to be with him), Anthony Bourdain, Eric Ripert, Steve Martin, and Jon Stewart is On the brink.
As a Lover of Dora/Marten I'm uncomfortable, but as a lady who goes weak in the knees with gray in the hair, I can't say I want it to fail.

No, that would be a cougar. A silver fox is a middle aged man who likes younger women.

Silver fox! That sounds a lot better than most of the alternatives I've heard. If I started chasing college girls after they have passed my courses, somehow I don't think that 'Silver fox' would be the term used to describe that?
Also, some posters seem to think that cougar is a derogatory term. My exposure is apparently again very different from theirs, but I haven't heard it being used (nor have I used it myself) in that way. To me it refers to an objectively attractive lady, who knows what she wants, and more often than not can get it. True, a cougar is about half a generation older than the prey of her choice, but she carries her few extra years with dignity, and won't let such a chronological triviality deter her from her pursuits. In some cases it shows poor taste/judgement on her part, but let's not be ageists :-)

--- End quote ---
That may well be the case, but stubble in that part of my face is often the result of trying to shave too quickly and with as few strokes as possible. When carefully avoiding cutting the lower lip, and/or passing the chin, the blade may momentarily lose contact with the skin (or make contact with a lower pressure), and this is what the result looks like - unless time is taken to check out the result. Read: 'neglect'.

--- Quote from: nonethousand on 18 May 2011, 01:32 ---Sorry if I am redundant: Penelope's throwing ladle + Faye's judo-hold
--- End quote ---
True, but in that instance, (which wasn't the first time Faye and Penelope came to blows) there was an actual disagreement which led to the exchange. Here, Faye seems to be manhandling Padma at random, and what's more, Padma is commenting on the verbal exchange between Jim and Dora and not even reacting to Faye trying to re-engineer her upper extremity.
--- End quote ---
we--ell, talking about coming to blows, Padma and Faye "made acquaintances" sparring in the street...
what I think happened "behind the scene" is something like this:
P: wow, that's a nice throwing ladle..
F: gimme that!!
P: no way!
>TONK!<
F: ok lady, it's schooling time!

You have it back to front. A Silver Fox is a middle-aged man who is fancied by younger women. A middle-aged man who fancies younger women is just a Dirty Old Man. :-D
