Should be a fun week.  Will we see the party?  Or will it be a Hangover thing, where details of the party are revealed to us and the characters over the next month or so?  (It will probably not be that)

There's a TARDIS in the basement of COD... she runs back downstairs and comes out with enough beans for the week for both shops, perfectly rested and packaged in airtight containers.

Well, in fact, we don't even need to suppose it, it's completely obvious in panels 3 and 4 of comic 1935. Unless it's levitating, that is.

EDIT: On second thought, that's not clear, it's quite possible it's on the counter. I thought the counter was higher than that. My bad.

Doesn't matter what size it was drawn as, if it's Ms Granger's Ultimate Purse (patent pending), or a Bag of Holding - it is now established that it contained all the roasted coffee in CoD necessary for a week.  It's time to move on - perhaps a discussion about how well the last panel's faces conveyed the appropriate emotions?

Yes because Dora's never  been annoyed with Faye while they were on the job.* I'd cite specific strips of Faye making Dora angry but I can't decide between the 500 which one to use. At this point I'm pretty sure the only thing that would get Faye fired is if she shot Dora with a crossbow and then took a dump on the counter.

...I think the crossbow thing would probably still get a pass, actually.

Dumping on the counter though, that's a health code violation, which means inspections and investigators and lawsuits and all sorts; no way to keep it "in the family" then.

But there'd still be the issue of possible assault/attempted murder charges (over the crossbow thing). And yes I know this is only the latest of several hundred incidents where Faye pissed off Dora on the job. If Dora was gonna fire her, it would've been years ago.

Idle thought:  The Secret Bakery, which is apparently Marten's new hang-out joint, is serving Coffe of Doom coffee.  Will he notice?  He's been drinking Dora's special blend (no innuendo intended) for a long time now, but is it that he especially enjoys the coffee, or just the place it's sold at?  He did seem to like The Secret Bakery's coffee, so perhaps his taste isn't as refined as the others.  If he notices, what'll he think of his worlds colliding?  Or, if he doesn't, perhaps it says something about how much he misses the company at Coffee of Doom rather than just the produce.

I think it has been reported that Martin has no pallet for coffee. I seem to remeber one of the c.o.d. staff saying he would drink brown water. And again I want to kill Steve. At least Martin is clued in to what Tia is up to. Too soon Tia shouldnt be making a move yet ~ imo.

It's not too soon for Tai, but too soon for Dora.  I think Dora probably knows full well that her head's not screwed on straight yet, and it would be a bad idea to get involved with someone else this soon.

Not that people don't rebound, but that's not what Tai's aiming for, either.

And does anyone else think the age difference might be an issue?  Tai's younger than Marten, who is younger than Dora.  Jim just ruffled Dora's feathers by calling her "mature".  Do you really think Dora wants to hang with someone that much younger, and constantly be reminded of the age difference?  Or maybe it will make her feel younger?

Is this a poll topic?

So, any chance we'll see the fabled "roasting" process?
You shall not pass!!
...Are you suggesting Mieville is involved in the process of roasting the beans?
*Looks as Gandalf and shrugs*
I guess that the world is not ready for coffee beans roasted by a Balrog, or...
What happens in the mines of Moria stays in the mines of Moria.other than Gandalf himself

I nominate "Pintsize said the same thing. I hope you're proud of yourself," as line of the week.

I would like to nominate the same quote as Worst Insult Ever Given in the QC universe.  Even if not always taken as such.

[ I think it has been reported that Martin has no pallet for coffee. I seem to remeber one of the c.o.d. staff saying he would drink brown water. And again I want to kill Steve. At least Martin is clued in to what Tia is up to. Too soon Tia shouldnt be making a move yet ~ imo.

Ok this is like, the third or fourth post I've seen where you type Tia repeatedly. Its TAI. TAI. Its only written repeatedly in this thread. Also, Just lol Steve. That was, just the kind of thing I would say (though, in my case I wouldn't mean it... seriously all my friends would find that funny, even if it was them in Marten's place).

Marten doesn't have a bed of straw for his coffee? Why would he need one?

Nice to see Marten isn't a permanent resident of Obliviousburg.

I don't think Steve is being 100% serious. It's likely he would enjoy seeing the aforementioned event, but he's probably doing it mainly to rib Marten a bit.
