It's a question my wife came up with. It's a good question: after all, Pintsize doesn't put Marten's underwear in the sink covered with motor oil.

My wife is the one who suggested the jealousy angle.

Because she reacts, I guess. Marten just kind of rolls over, what's the humor in that?  :|

Hell, the little tin boob terrorist is besotted with the Pugnacious Peach. Right from the first strips in which she said popping a CD out of one's torso was the "CUTEST. THING. EVAR."   (5). Even if all he could do is let her play with his ethernet port (8 ).

He just wants her attention, and is seeking it by being persistent and obnoxious despite being thrown bodily across the room, kind of like another character we know.

  • Just waiting to jump in with a peninsula joke.

This strikes me as a crack pairing of epic proportions.

Honestly, I think Pintsize is a sort of commentary on the overly sexualized view our culture has, esp towards women. However, he seems to have boundaries. While I remember incidences of him making sexual jokes about Faye and Dora I can't remember him making any about Hanners. (although there was that time he bribed her with pictures of sexy firemen.)

Where Pintsize sees the other human cast members as "them," I'd bet he sees Hanners as an "us."

  • That's a smashing blouse. FELLA!

Even then that's being helpful, not mean. I've noticed that too but then there is this comic: http://questionablecontent.net/view.php?comic=805 So Pintsize intended to do something but then Winslow talked him out of it. A lot of it could be Winslow. That wasn't even the comic I was looking for but it made a better point.

There's also this comic of him helping Hanners again in an odd way: http://questionablecontent.net/view.php?comic=1175

I'm going to guess Winslow probably manages to control him a little when it comes to Hanners.

As for the poll I went for "She's there" and "She reacts". However Faye's reactions have included shoving him in the freezer so maybe he enjoys the battle or just doesn't learn.

Edit: Fixed a link.

  • The distilled essence of Mr. James Beam himself.

I was thinking something similar, that it's pintsize's relationship with Winslow (and Winslow's protectiveness of his owner) that makes him treat Haners differently.

Didn't work with Marigold, even though he's pals with Momo

Pintsize is obviously a breast robot. His attention is solely directed towards two of the three women in the strip with significant cup sizes.

He was out of comission the first time he met Marigold, but the second time, he played with her boobs even though it cost him a significant dent in the chassis.

His only comment, "It wath worth it."

He's talked about the awesomeness of Faye's boobs, but he knows that he wouldn't survive the attempt to cop a feel. He should meet Raven, she probably wouldn't mind nearly so much, and almost certainly wouldn't hit so hard.

Of course this raises a whole other question. What kind of a sense of touch does an AnthroPC have that it's worth him getting badly beat up to play with some tits?

I suppose there must be some sense of touch, especially in things like Clinton's hand.  But even without, just observing the reaction of a larger cup size to a touch yields a significant amount of interesting data.  As does observing the reactive motions from other activities, such as the owner of said bosoms walking by.

At the engineering school I attended as an undergrad, we used to call it "fluid dynamics".

I gues I'm not just a grumpy  old man...

Edit: for general stupidity and correct names.

Hey, I think you're on to something. When Pintsize's regional settings were switched away from American, he stopped engaging in sexual harassment.

Because he was programmed to.  Perhaps each new person he meets he decides how will he treat them based on a weighted random number generator.

He's a computer.  Computers do not show emotion; anytime the robots emulate human emotion it is artificial.

Don't forget though that in the QCverse robots are sentient. Is there really a difference in a sentient robot feeling well coded emotion versus a human having emotions that are genetically coded? In the QCverse I want to say no, though I'm not sure this topic has been specifically addressed.

Pintsize has  met Raven: "you have some truly excellent hooters"!
Results were as I predicted too. Of course it's logical he didn't try to cop a feel. Being as he is essentially an antagonist, it's not as much fun  with a person who doesn't mind.

It might also be something on the line that since her father was a major player in the creation of AIs that he may have either instilled a 'play nice' circuit in his creations or that Pintsize fears what 'God' might do to him if he hurts Hannelore. Also Pintsize seems to try to avoid being overtly malicious, there was one comic where he kept trying to come up with something to do to Hannelore and it ended up getting more and more grotesque to the point where Winslow told him to just let it go and try again another day.

The latest comic's little nudge nudge wink wink to Douglas Adams mad me happy. Really happy. Happy in a way that only a defragged sex robot and a purple squid can.

I know the one Blackjoker's talking about, and went hunting in the archives and the transcript searches, unsuccessfully. It's Pintsize and Winslow talking on the couch, Pintsize getting steadily more outrageous (early suggestion was to repaint Hanners's apartment in hot pink and black). Winslow starts by commiserating with Pintsize about having an off day, but as PS gets more desperately disgusting, ends the strip with:  "Seriously, stop trying."

890 - it's in the section that the search doesn't have indexed.

FTFY.

Mostly I'd say you're right. In fact, I think he's often the target of an almost psychotic degree of overreaction from some of the female cast members.

He is sometimes truly unspeakably malicious to Marten though.
