Thanks! I was never worried about my degree itself really, it would have been a pretty dick move from the school to not let us graduate after such a traumatic experience that no one can be blamed for. We had done all the work and were just finishing up, and since some of the students lost all of their work and research, the tutors graded us based on their knowledge of how we'd been as students throughout the year, as well as some research presentations we held a couple weeks before the fire, so our grades were fair as well. So yeah, the only difference when it comes to the actual degree was the process of grading of it.

(And yes, my friend is indeed hot. And she won a prize! A surprise prize!)

An education related prize! There are quite a lot of them, printmaking related and painting related, usually awarded by someone rich who has a fund and wants to give money to encourage the graduates they think fit their criteria the best that year. Not sure exactly what her prize is, she doesn't know either, I assume they'll let her know at a later point.

I went to Relay For Life yesterday!

I played a 90 minute acoustic set, then ran a mile in 5 minutes, then walked another mile with my wheelchair-bound buddy Bob (not pictured). Then I ran another 5 minute mile with my buddy Zach (white shirt).

5 minutes? Dude, you're a whippet. Fastest I can currently manage is 8. Could probably get that down a few seconds if I wasn't running on weird ground (pavements, roads, uphill/downhill gradients). Kudos!

I'm in really excellent cardiovascular shape right now, probably the best of my life in spite of the smoking. But I'm built for prolonged high speeds. I could maybe translate that to hockey someday, but that's gonna have to wait til I can afford gear. I'd like to train for a marathon though, I feel like I could do it and make good time. I'm gonna start looking for local 5ks to start, then 10ks, and so on.

My buddy got pulled over last night, and we decided to take a picture together.

If I wanted to transfer to the Division of Adult Institutions, I would have to meet three physical fitness requirements. The first would be a timed mile-and-a-half run of 17 minutes, 30 seconds.

I don't think, even at my fittest, I could run a mile in 17:30.

Well a 17:30 mile is a brisk walk, but they're asking for what, an 11:30 mile? That's like 5.25mph. Gotta work up to sustaining that for a mile and a half.
