What did Veronica Reed tell her youngster about her work?

I always got the opposite response, that Marten somewhat resents his mother and is embarrassed by the whole thing.  He also acts like he endured a bunch of kids talking about his mom is a MILF, they saw her videos, etc.

There's no easy way to handle it.  I guess you could say she handled it well because they still communicate, but don't forget he lives nowhere near her which probably helps the relationship.

I think the only thing about the whole thing that really bothers Marten is the knowledge that so many people think of his Mother (and have been with her) in sexual ways. It directly clashes with the natural "talk about my mom like that and I'll break your face" instinct. He doesn't seem to be terribly embarrassed or ashamed about her occupation in general; he didn't hesitate to tell Faye, and after he could tell Dora's dad was cool he even told him about it (even if he regretted it afterwards). She embarrassed him pretty bad on her last visit, but mostly in typical "mother" ways (the goatse incident notwithstanding).

My mom first told me about sex when I first asked, when I was around 5. She told me with most if not all details, and of course since I was so young I pretty much forgot by next year. So I asked again, and she told me again. Over and over until I finally got it; by the time we learned it in school I already knew most of the stuff the teachers was telling us. Sometimes it pays to be honest with young kids; we shouldn't underestimate their minds.
