Okay I thought I wouild post a few things that I have lying around and really like that other people like might (but only if they happen to like good music).
Down in June - Covers...Death in June
"As The Byrds were to Dylan so Down In June are to Death In June."
Death In June are everyone's favourite highly controversial British post-punk industrial folk band, dogged by persistent problems surrounding their use of fascistic and militaristic imagery and frontman Douglas P's (almost) steadfast refusal to explain the meanings of any of the bands lyrics. Down in June are a swedish group who take Death in June's cold, military tunes and transform them into some nice jazzy scandinavian pop music. This album, perhaps a one-off, uses mostly songs from the late 80's/early 90's period of Brown Book, The Wall of Sacrifice, But What Ends when the Symbols Shatter? and Rose Clouds of Holocaust, with several older songs (ie Heaven Street), though little newer material (A couple of tracks from Take Care and Control, and 'The Enemy Within' from All Pigs Must Die being the latest track). The selection is pretty perfect from the point of view of a Di6 fan, though maybe I would have made a few changes (dropping Little Blue Butterfly for Symbols of the Sun, Luther's Army or She Said Destroy maybe). Be sure to listen to the end of the last track to hear an absolutely stunning dark jazzy version of Rose Clouds of Holocaust, which is probably actually the best track on the album.

From the 'ole blog. Yellow Swans live @ Sound&Fury. A killer live set from the former noise greats
--- Quote from: Hollowpress.blogspot.com ---Yellow Swans live @ Sound&Fury 29/10/2005, recorded in a record store and only released in an edition of 150 copies in hand made, wax sealed envelopes. The show was during a 2005 tour of Australia but unlike most of their sets which lasted 20-25 minutes, this one goes on for nearly forty minutes. This performance is much dronier, more hypnotically beautiful in its noise than some of the other sets' brutal assaults. The opener is 18 minutes of shimmering, low end guitar hum which glides and glows beneath a whistling, creaking, whirring electro-skree. It's a really gorgeous, haunting sounding piece. Track two is about a quarter as long and is a lot rougher. It's louder and skuzzier, the guitar tone still low but no longer warm. Instead it has a more mechanical buzz to it, almost like some distant, muted power tool. The electo skree on top if more unhinged, hissing and screeching into wild high end flurries and ragged rumbles. The third and final track begins with a searing line of high end feedback and slowly builds and develops from there over 15 minutes. The hypnotic drone of low end guitar still sets the foundation for careening sinewave mayhem. This is a shimmering, desolate sound with murky guitar oscillations and humming pulses of sound. There's very little melodic here if anything but this isn't pure noise. It's dense, dynamic, and the more you listen the more you hear. It's actually really impressive that two guys are doing this live.
Track list:
1. Untitled 1 (18:12)
2. Untitled 2 (5:21)
3. Untitled 3 (15:02)
