Hey everyone, my names Thom, I'm in Echo Lake and I just wanted to say to the person who uploaded our EP don't worry or feel like an asshole for leaking it. These things happen. It's just that I spent and long time writing, recording and mixing those songs and it just felt like a bit of an anticlimax to it being released. I seriously have no problem with people downloading our stuff, I do it all the time with bands I like. I'm just glad people wanna hear it.
It's on loads of different sites now anyway but all I will ask if that everyone on this blog waits a few more weeks until it's released on valentines day and then share it with as many people as you can!
Please don't think badly of our label either, No pain in pop are a fantastic label and by no means after big bucks, we're all just trying to release a good record for you all the have, hold and enjoy.
I'm glad I discovered this blog anyway, lot's of good stuff here!
Much love
Thom

I do the right thing. i didn't when i was 20, but i do now. i guess once you grow up and realize what life consists of, you change your mind about things. working to make money and purchasing albums... you know, the right thing... it's fun to do that sometimes.

and let's be realistic, you don't start your own fucking business w/out illusions of getting wealthy. There's no such thing as selflessness, or at least that's what these indie rock bands are teaching me.

I can't tell if you're being condescending toward what you assume is my own attitude toward buying music or my view on the human race. And as for the illusions of wealth, I was just trying to respond to medicatesleep's douchey comment in which he implied that by requesting the removal of a leak link they were indicating some misplaced unrealistic ambition. This seems to me a pretty senseless logical leap and it made him sound like a dick.  That said, sure they fuckin want to make some money, but a business needs money to run at all.  Not all impulse towards making a few bucks is derived from some fantasy of drowning in cash.  You make it sound like running a business to make any money at all means you assume you can get rich by it.

THANK YOU.

I'm not saying that all albums should be for free or that bands should not get paid. Just saying they expect people to pony up cash for some sub par "art". If a label implodes due to piracy and no one buying their records, it is just darwin's theory at work.

If you haven't noticed we are 244 pages into a thread of pure piracy intended to spread the word of fan fave acts who you'd probably never hear otherwise.

I'm sorry you think I'm an asshole Tom. Welcome to the internet.

If you take this too seriously, you may miss the point.
