The "wink wink" Thread 2010: This Time It's Personal
pwhodges:
Have some Steeleye Span; a UK electric folk band, somewhat like Fairport Convention and similarly successful in their day.
First, a collection of albums from their heyday in the early 1970s:
I have split the compilation up into the albums and the extras.
Steeleye Span - Below the Salt (1972)

Steeleye Span - Parcel of Rogues (1973)

Steeleye Span - Compilation Extras (1972-4)
(Gaudete single; a bonus track from the Parcel of Rogues sessions; and a live track)

The group's lineup changed from time to time, and they nearly ended around the turn of the century, but a couple of the early members were persuaded back, and they are now quite active again. I have to say that when I saw them live in Oxford a few weeks ago, the show was very disappointing in comparison to their recordings - I suppose they're getting old, like me. Here's a couple of their recent albums:
Steeleye Span - Winter (2004)

Steeleye Span - Bloody Men (2006)

I came across a super-high quality rip (1.4 gigs or thereabouts) of the original German vinyl pressing of Tusk today. The CD version's a well-known hack job, editing Sara and otherwise shortening the album.

Hey
It's been a long time since my last contribution, så here's something new for you.
I've uploaded stuff by this guy before. He is the lead singer of Veto, and has done solos before, under the name SuperTroels, all uploaded earlier.
Here are his new Solo, this time under his own name, Troels Abrahamsen
Smooth electronic, and not as irritating as his vocals could be earlier. Very nice actually!

--- Quote ---I’ve been a fan of Troels Abrahamsen for quite a while. I’m impressed by his output with fellow electrorockers in VETO and excited about his electronica solo career under the monikers I Know That You Know, Mockin’ Bird and SuperTroels. This third solo release, the first under his real name, does nothing to change that. In fact, it reinforces my belief that Mr. Abrahamsen is one of the most interesting musical minds in Denmark right now.
