In the last few weeks I've seen The Lego Movie and The Secret Life of Walter Mitty.
Both are HIGHLY recommended. Lego Movie was just plain old awesome, Mitty was.....interesting. Sometimes funny, sometimes sad, definitely had some beautiful scenes as well. Was incredibly bittersweet, though.
A friend and I went to see it for one of the last showings, on the day that one of our local theaters was closing. Nick's cousin was a manager there. Both his cousin and his brother had full time jobs there and Nick worked there for about 9 years himself. Seeing Mitty there was a bizarre parallel because one of the main plots in the movie is that Life magazine is stopping its print edition and going entirely digital. The theater was closing because they couldn't afford to make the switch from film to digital and most (if not all) movies will soon be released entirely in digital. It was sad to see that shift happening in the movie when the same thing was basically happening in real life.
