I actually often prefer blurry photos. The idea of a 'good' photo is that it looks like real life, which... is just like real life. We see it all the time. Boring! A blurry photo can have a lot of interesting qualities you don't see in 'good quality' photos.

<3 selfies.
We live in a visual culture where image is important.  Selfies are the ultimate expression of a person taking control of their own image and asserting this is me, this who, where, and what I am.  It's worth noting that the people most often mocked for taking selfies are the people least likely to be in control of their own image at a broader culture wide level.

You've this has just made me commit to change my avatar for the first time in like, 5 years.  Selfie time!

(*I feel the need to clarify that this is not a personal attack against anyone here, but a common expression which happens to contain a swear word.)
