It's not baseless, it really depends how the AI is programmed to be honest.

edit: there was a table top game from france where one of the factions were synthetics controlled through an MMO video game of an alien race.  That might work.  Add living metal to the work and yeah, would be better than human clones for an army.

He thought that the walking was cool and the pretty lights were awesome ... The singing, however ... Not so much, at first. So, we skipped the essence of the evening and went on a long, long trek to his grandmother. Of course, he fell two times and he became tired halfway so I had to carry him. Once at his grannies' he suddenly figured out what the singing was for and started to go door to door ... Three year old. It's amazing he managed all of that, to be honest.

Have you ever gotten a strong whiff of something and then been able to taste it? I've never experienced this before, but I was just cleaning out a bowl of spaghetti (for theatre reasons, which can be read all about in the University/College thread) and now I have this taste of it in my mouth. I'm fixing that with some tea right now, but it's very strange.

That only tends to happen to me with negative smells. I took out the garbage at work yesterday and the whole are reeked of pot and garbage that had been left out in the sun. I didn't taste it per say (how would I know what those two things taste like) but I felt the scent enter my mouth in a particularly nausiating way

If 20% of women never reproduce, does that automatically mean 20% of men don't as well?

divorces, population ratios, infidelity, all play a major faction so no.

I don't see how divorces and infidelity have a direct relation to childbirth. Still, I see how the percentages could differ, because men can reproduce with multiple women and vice-versa. A random person on the internet told me that 20% of women statistic, which is easy to find out; not so much for men.

So my next question is: can we expect the percentages to be different?

I'd say so.  the divorces and infidelity indicates one male multiple female there for 3 women who do reproduce from 1 man will throw off the percentage because he is just one person.  There isn't a 1:1 ratio because of these mitigating circumstances.

Then you're assuming that every marriage that ended in divorce produced a child, and every divorcee went on to reproduce another time, and every time someone cheats they produce a child... that's a lot of big assumptions.

no no, all I am saying in there are mitigating circumstances that can affect the percentages because it doesn't take place in a vacuum is all.  The statistics could end up being 20% of women do not reproduce but 35% of men do not, or perhaps 18% do not.  When it comes to the female there is only one out come because they are the ones who have the baby, but when it comes to males anyone could be the DNA donor and therefore it cannot necessarily be a 1:1 ratio in percentages because the same donor could be used for multiple births.

I don't know why I got on this train of thought, but I thought of all the electronic entertainment shit I have - laptop, cell phone, mp3 player, and TV with Xbox 360, and how if I could only have one I'd have my laptop.

I can still make calls and communicate with people with my laptop, still listen to music, play games, and most importantly, do schoolwork. I think if I were to rank things I own in terms of value my laptop would be at the top.

Recently my dorm had a fire alarm (thankfully false, but recently friends of mine at another university had a lot of stuff ruined when the sprinklers activated for a real fire) and while still mostly asleep I grabbed my laptop and charger and tossed it in my backpack before evacuating. I believe my thought was that if I did lose everything I could thrift shop for new clothes and buy new school supplies, but would never be able to afford to replace my laptop and would still need it for school.

I don't think I have any kind of insurance at all (unless you count the 34p I once paid towards National Insurance). My RCM membership might carry some kind of insurance but I don't think I actually need it as a student, so maybe not.

Oh actually, my violin is insured, but by my mum. We did talk about moving it across into my name and having me pay for it, but she decided to keep dealing with it for now.

I just thought you'd want to know Hitler murdered all those people because he was Christian. and that's the stupidest thing I've heard today. Yep the Nazis and the Japanese were religiously motivated and Nazism is a Christian ideology Apparently because the Emperor is a deity. Now we can say a perverted version of Bushido resulted in war crimes in the Pacific but that isn't religion This ass clown is saying religion motivated the Axis powers in WW2 to START the war. As opposed to you know... rampant nationalism and expansionism
Yup. DEFINITELY religion. NOT the nationalistic revenge of a nation taxed into economic irrelevance to pay restitution for a war started to appease the rampant megalomania of inbred monarchs.

What if someone with hemorrhoids was shaving their asshole and slit one open? God, I bet that would sting like a motherfucker.

Why does 1% and 2% milk exist, but nothing in between 2% and whole milk exists?

I would be an AMAZING mother if I didn't despise children.

I want to be a little kitten for a day.

I am probably going to overdose on Flinstones vitamins one day.

I want to round up a bunch of feminists and feed them to cannibalistic tribes.

Whole milk is 4%, so each variant is half the fat of the previous - all neat and tidy.  Actually, in the UK it's not usual to see 1% either - just whole, half-fat and (almost) fat-free.

I want to round up a bunch of feminists and feed them to cannibalistic tribes.

But which feminists?  There are many kinds.
