It probably has something to do with the fact that while Stations computing power is substantial (in fact, I'd go as far as to assume that any computer in the QC verse that runs an AI is probably fairly powerful compared to what we have irl), it's still a conventional computer.
If AI's required a quantum computer to work, it's much more likely that the task could be computed.

I  figured Hanners made an offhand musing aboout the origin of the patterns they were watching, and station decided he would get  her the answer that she desired.

Kinda like any guy on a date trying to do something that will impress his date.

--- Quote from: jmucchiello on 10 Apr 2012, 05:34 ---I found this comic unsatisfactory.  Even as a one-off joke, it fell somewhat flat. There had to be something more interesting to focus on in the last few space strips.

Everything's relative, and your mileage may vary.

I had a serendipitous experience with this strip: my computer was slow to load and scroll the comic, so I only saw the first two frames for about ten seconds. I was half-expecting "what's up with those two" to refer to a snuggly-cuddly Marigold and Francis.   :psyduck:

Yes... It's been a while since Hanners pulled an obsession fuelled all-nighter. This is a reversion and not especially healthy. Note that Station has given himself bags under his eyes, albeit not quite the panda-eye shadows that Hanners has.

Black Sword:
Ya know, Marten and LT. Abbie get along really well. It's a pity we won't get to see her again after the end of this week.

While it's a funny one-off gag, I also feel unsatisfied with it. Surely, if we're stuck up in space until Friday, there was something more relevant?

Warning - while you were typing the mole people have risen and conquered the surface. Nutbunnies.
