It suddenly occurs to me, fun astronomy jokes aside, that Marten has his scale mixed up.  Saying she's a woman of a kuiper blet object implies more experience than a woamn of the world, not less.  Marigold is probably more along the lines of a woman of Kansas right now, and moving up.

You've apparently never spent much time in Kansas. The young ladies there are quite experienced.

Ahhh... I really hope Marigold gets to see her new guy again some time. Maybe he'll pop down to Earth for the occasional visit. Maybe if they get serious he'll even take a job dirtside. Maybe he's only up there for a limited time anyway, as part of his course of study. All of these things are possible, and would increase Marigold's happiness.

This would make me enjoy the comic more.

When a typical person says something like "you're welcome anytime", it doesn't necessarily mean much.

Dr. E-C is a  nerd. He probably doesn't know how to say something non-literally.

The door is open, then, for more space station visits. Marigold might be permitted to come along again.

When it comes time to make the good robot QCusses, maybe this Station isn't the one we should let handle it.

Hanners has come a long way since Hugging Hannelore Heralds Heavy Hyperventilation.
And now this is probably going to set her back years.  Way to go Station.

1. After 13(!) weeks, it looks like we are finally done with QC in Space.  Unless there is a week of comics involving transit from Station via Spaceship to Earth, which theorhetically could count still for QC in Space, Week 14.  I certainly enjoyed this long story-arc.  It will be interesting to see if Jeph ever tries to top this.  [Around the World in Eighty QC-Days! (or 80 strips)  Or...  20,000 QC's Under the Sea!]

2. Marigold and Francis York parting make-out was very sweet.  Whether this is simply a passionate fling or something more, it will be interesting to see.

3. Lt. Abby Potter seeing Marten off was also a nice touch, I got the feeling she did so out of new friendship rather than duty.  (always good to make a new friend, especially military/astronaut ones)

4. It might have been a cooler, though perhaps less humorous, moment if Station had animated the old boyfriend 'bot prototype for saying good-byes with.  [Post Edit Add: Ooh, not only could he have animated it, Station could have overlaid his hologram over it too!]

5. As for the "armed" (hah) security droid...  "It is go-ing to hugs *loud clap* you up!"  [oh god i feel so old for having referenced that bit of SNL history...]

6. As I have posted before, I hope we see the characters we met aboard Station again, including Station.

7. A real story twist would be if the QC-trio do not go back to Northamption right away...

-a) [Marten]: Hey Spaceship, mind if we take a "minor" detour and layover to California before heading back to Northampton?  There is someone I would like to give this space ham I brought from the station's kitchens to...

OR...

-b) [Spaceship]: *alarms blaring & red lights flashing* Engines 1, 2, & 4 are out!  Maneuvering thrusters are non-functional!  Emergency back-ups are off-line!  We're going down!  I'm going to try to set myself down near that South Pacific island that is not on any of my onboard maps!  Brace for impact!  Brace for im-

20,000 QC's Under the Sea!
Literally!
20 000 Strips!
That's... a year has 52 weeks, each week has 5 strips without discounting YB or guest comics... that's 260 strips per year and 77 years at least for this amazing story arc! Get working on those comics, Jeph!

Hmm, I feel almost the complete opposite. Space dun, family re-unions, Marigold's bloke and Marten's self-awareness make the CoD stuff seem small and petty.

There was also a cartoon "Bionic Six" with SIX ONE MILLION DOLLAR PEOPLE, a Six million dollar family if you will.
No, wait a second it was the six million dollar man originally... so either it is six million dollar family in the sense that every one is six million or they had to cut costs. Damn, America, consider where you're putting your budget. Who cares about schools when you can have BIONIC PEOPLE.

We probably had it on TV a year or two later than you did. I recall thinking that the pilot episode was the coolest thing ever. But ... you remember that at the beginning of each episode they showed a clip of the uncontrollably crashing test plane, and a "scary" x-ray of his skull. For some reason I couldn't handle seeing that. I had to either close my eyes, or intentionally "miss" the first couple minutes. Sounds silly now, but it felt like a good idea at the time ...

Did remembering this make me feel young again??

Your breaking up, your breaking up

 :-D

It would be interesting to see if the Francis and Marigold relationship sets sail or runs aground on the reefs at the harbor mouth. They look teh cute together.

They should be back on Earth and home - by next Friday.

I do have to admit, they are pretty a-Pauli-ng.
Excluding this one, on principle, of course...

Padded-arms hugbot is creepy. Or perhaps my "Buffalo Bill wings!" reaction comes from watching Silence Of The Lambs (or one of the serial-killer fetishisation TV shows) once too often.

Those semi-lifelike arms on the hugbot have Unfortunate Implications.

Either:

a.) They belonged to someone;
b.) They belonged to some unfortunate AI;
or
c.) Station can manufacture reasonably lifelike arms.

Yeah, if you'd separated "makeouts" and "eeeeEEEEE", the latter would've got my vote.
