Is it cold in here?:
Control issues are common in adult children of alcoholics. Could being raised by potheads have the same effect?

Probably. It arises in ACOA from the parents not being stable, not being able to keep a job, etc. The child in an uncontrolled environment starts controlling what they can, and not feeling comfortable unless they're in complete control. In the case of potheads, they'd be forgetting many of the important events, incidents and promises important to a child or teen, an that could lead to control issues. Not necesarily as serious a situation, but influential nonetheless.

What do you mean, far-fetched? The third panel is obviously from Faye's imagination.

Indeed. To me it reads like Faye is describing what she's (fictionally) seeing, and that's what Marigold's referring to in the last panel. Much like Jeph did in the strip with Dora, Faye, and Pintsize during the space arc (with Faye also painting a colorful picture for the story they'll tell Marten when he gets back).
