Wow, no kidding.

Annnyway, just for a change, did review my post and decided "meh."

Onto the new comic: I guess the people who thought it was inappropriate for Tai to talk to Dora's ex had a point after all.

Is it cold in here?:
How well acquainted does Tai feel with Faye? They've been at parties together, but is there a case where they've compared notes about life problems the way Marten and Tai have?

Throg:
Somehow, if Tai did call Faye, that just might underscore Tai's point in the comic -- that she doesn't have close friends who aren't ex-flings and fuckbuddies, and/or she doesn't have anyone else to have a meaningful conversation about relationships.

At the same time, while Marten's 'cool' about Tai and Dora possibly getting together, that's still a far cry from being cool with holding Tai's metaphorical hand through the whole process.

Carl-E:
It's almost as though Marten was reading the forums...

Madmartigan:
Comic!

And there you have it.  Jeph answers both our questions.

Does Tai have real friends to talk to? Nope.

Did she try Faye? Yep.  As she SHOULD have.  Though, it is Faye.  Poor choice going to her so late in the night.

And Marten.  Yea, he's 'over' Dora.  But it most certainly does make sense (as I figured) that he's a bit miffed/put off that Tai thought it'd be ok for the ex-boyfriend to hold her hand as she gets with and talks about his ex.  That's normal, as I've said.  We'll see what Tai has to say.

I can see Marten giving her advice this time.  But I think (thinking back to how much more annoyed he gets when people ask if he's ok with it) that this is a one time deal only.  That Tai shouldn't/can't keep relying on the ex for advice.  That it isn't fair.  At least, I hope he is and is demonstrative about it and not passive.
