Yes. That did cross my mind.

Is it cold in here?:
Hoping that Marten will not be passive?

Kugai:
Actually, despite the late hour (and the frakin' annoyance), Marten may actually be the right person for Tai to talk to about this at this point.

--- Quote from: Pilchard123 on 03 Sep 2012, 03:41 ---I'm pretty sure that Terry Pratchett once said or wrote something along the lines of "Revolution doesn't bring change, it just leaves a bloody mess all over the place."

He did, however write "And so the children of the revolution were faced with the age-old problem: it wasn't that you had the wrong kind of government, which was obvious, but that you had the wrong kind of people. As soon as you saw people as things to be measured, they didn't measure up."

I don't remember that in any of the Discworld series (or at least up to "Thud"), or was this one of his quotes? Still... the man has a penchant for making sense.

The second one is definitely a Vimes-ism, at a guess, I'd say from Night Watch. The first one, ironically given your signature, feels like it comes from Interesting Times itself.

--- End quote ---
Yeah... my memory is kind of static-y sometimes. Well, I'm re-reading the series anyway (up to Moving Pictures at this point), so I'll probably find out in a few months.

Poor Tai, though. It's hard working or living somewhere and not really having anyone you can talk seriously to (particularly when you need help). I don't know that Momo wouldn't have a good confidant, though (her and Tai have worked with each other for a while, and they are pretty good friends in any case). Marten might be the "go-to guy", but given his past with Dora, he would be considered a last resort.

At least Faye didn't go all Cthulhu over the phone, though. Tai wouldn't even be willing to approach the apartments. Or the town.

Some things are best left unknown.
