Border Reiver:
I'm not even sure I'd want Claire to be giving affidavit evidence.

As a big plus, it is enjoyable seeing Hanners playing this up so well.  She is playing, isn't she?

Near Lurker:
And now Claire learns who Marten's mother is...

I think that's why I like this character so much. We're never quite sure, are we?

Now there's a meeting I want to see. Assuming they haven't met already…

--- Quote from: LordVaughn on 20 Sep 2012, 05:46 ---i can see where Claire is going with the argument. what seems to be her problem is that she sees almost everything as a logical thing. for example, being outright flabbergasted that her fellow interns were only at the library for reasons not entirely necessary to education. This isnt necessarily a bad thing, but delving into logic far too often around those not aligned to logical things, or aligned to a different form of logic, she will find herself in plenty of situations like this.

To quote Terry Pratchett, "humans have always preferred common sense to logic" (-Interesting Times). Your analysis of Claire's character is essentially the reason why, I think.
Also, speaking as somebody who is studying logic at university, logic sucks. :P

And anyway, Hannerdad IS pretty cool whichever way you look at him. I mean, the guy has a space station and an army (of cancer-fighting nanomachines) at his disposal, he is basically THE mad scientist! ;D
