Asterus:

--- Quote from: Akima on 26 Oct 2012, 04:48 --- but Claire's frozen expression from panels three to four says to me that nobody is laughing.

--- End quote ---
I don't know. It seemed more like everyone was just frozen in stunned silence because it was Claire that got a good joke in. It kinda reminded me of the whole "teabagging a bear cub in front of its mother thing"

Binary:
Well, that's odd. I read the comic immediately after Jeph posted it, and Clinton's final line was "It was a spider bite".

But now, "It was a fireworks accident".

I tried refreshing the page a few times to see if Jeph was serving comics up from a random pool of alternative punchlines, but it hasn't changed any more.

Carl-E:
It was determined in an earlier strip (by Claire herself) that it was a fireworks accident.  Gotta get to work, though, so I'll let someone else archive it...

A fine example of Jeph checking his own archive to avoid ret-conning.

DSL:
First Claire said a firecracker went off in Clinton's hand.

"Always with the euphemisms." -- I. Asimov.

Dr. ROFLPWN:
Claire is the god damn best

Startin' those sick fires
