Technoir:
Hey Jeph! Just wanted to add my 0.00000001BTC to this thread of warm fuzzies and say that since I discovered your strip almost 7 years ago, I've seen your work evolve, got a glimpse of your own evolution through your forum and newsposts, and I just want to say thank you. QC got me through some lonely times at sea, times where I just wanted to say "fuck it", quit, and go back home to some shitty 9-5 IT job for crap money, but at least I'd be close to family and friends again. You have tremendous talents: artistic, literary, musical. These talents would be wasted without the "secret sauce" that are your life experiences, your passions, your challenges.
"Why do we fall, sir? So that we might learn to pick ourselves up. " ~ Alfred Pennyworth, "Batman Begins"
I have zero doubt that you will pick yourself up, Jeph, and become stronger because of the fall.
I haven't really been following the twitterverse about this, but to your detractors I say: Jealousy is a stinky cologne, assholes. (yes, i know the quote is "desperation", but hey, it's my rambling here...) And for those bitching about how Jeph draw *HIS FUCKING CHARACTERS* "wrong", how about you all SIT THE FUCK DOWN, SHUT THE FUCK UP, and start your own webcomic? Yeah. I didn't think so.
So, Jeph, my best wishes for a successful recovery and please don't be one of those guys who pushes their rehab too fast because "i know my own body, dude...." and ends up doing more damage (or permanent damage). Take it slow and easy, listen to your doctor(s), and we'll all be here when you get back, just like your characters.

Like a few others, I'm just crawling out of the woodwork to pipe up with my support for you.
Kick some inner-demon ass, and whatever the reason is that they got to you, know that there are a bunch of us here rooting for you. I look forward to reading your comics, whenever it may be that you feel comfortable to start them up again. Take all the time you need, though; I'm a patient guy. ;)

Barmymoo:
I love the comic, and it has been such a useful tool for considering how people work and addressing my own personal demons. But far more than that, and probably in a way you never anticipated, the forum has been a huge influence in my life. I have learnt to debate and discuss issues that I had never considered, been open and honest about things that I couldn't talk to my friends in real life about, been entertained and educated by people from all over the world, and made so many friendships. Just by allowing this forum to exist, you have enriched my life immeasurably, and that coupled with the comic might well mean you are one of the most important indirect influences of the last decade for me.

All I can say is 'damn, that's your fretting hand.' Or possibly 'how are you going to use your digital watch, now?', but that's a horribly old reference. Best wishes towards a recovery, and best of luck fighting the demons, man.

I don't know what the issues Jeph is dealing with are, but I do know that he has created a universe which I think has a great deal to teach us about where our own is going (the Speech on AI Rights makes me want to cheer), and so I hope he finds his center anew and puts these problems behind him.
Jeph, if I buy all three of your books, will you promise not to regard this as proof that stabbing yourself is an effective marketing strategy?
