So I'm quitting smoking
Welu:
As a non-smoker, I really like e-cigarettes. I've tried them with nicotine filters and while the nicotine was unpleasant, I find the flavour and action to be ... The only word I have is "soothing". I keep meaning to buy the non-nicotine flavoured filters. I guess growing up with both of my parents and a lot of extended family smoking has shown me the negatives but also made me associate it with something positive?
I'm sorry if that's not helpful but this thread got me thinking and I wanted to share that.
My well wishes to the people trying to quit.

Sounds kind of porn-y though.

Thank you, you took the words right out of my mind.

WHO IS THIS I AM SO CONFUSED
Patrick:
I know, right? Since when do I pretend to have tact
sitnspin:
I started smoking when I was 14. I have managed to go from a pack and a half a day to a pack a week. It was partly discipline, partly use of "electronic cigarettes" and partly changes in my stress levels. During the height of my smoking habit I was going through serious emotional and psychological issues (which is what lead to me starting) and the smoking helped calm me down. Years of therapy, meditation and yoga later and I am in a much healthier headspace which has made reducing the amount I smoke much easier. Now I pretty much just smoke when I like it rather than because I "need" it.
