So I'm quitting smoking

Wow, those are actually priced competitively as compared to tobacco? I might have mentioned that I bought therapeutic nicotine inhalers for my dad, which are waaay more expensive than their equivalent in cigarettes, but the only electronic cigarettes I've seen start at €100, with god knows how much for the cartridges.

Is tobacco comparatively expensive where you live, that this is an affordable alternative? Are there any similar things to find in Europe? My mom tells me that e-cigs are banned here for some reason, although I gotta check. Something about health risks. Health risks, they say! For an alternative to smoking that doesn't involve inhaling tar and carbon monoxide! The hypocrisy.

...Okay, seems that they're not allowed to advertise them here, but otherwise they're legal. The one company that I can find selling them is also selling... phones, laptops, budget desktops, laptop components and smoking accessories. Interesting.

They're all addictive.

This amuses me so much more than it probably should, and now you know I'm a hipster

My wife has completely switched to e-cigs, and has started the step down process.  She was bying disposable ones, but just got one with cartridges and a charger.

The charger plugs into a USB port...  and the cigarette plugs into the chargetr whole, so it looks like her laptop is lighting up.   :psyduck:

One of my friends is a pretty heavy smoker (I only see him a few times a year at conventions, so all I have to do is stand downwind or talk inside), and he made the swap to e-cigarettes about a year ago. But the last two times I saw him, he was back to normal cigarettes. :/ Is there a particular reason why someone would swap from e-cigarettes to normal ones? Since I so rarely see him, I feel like it would be kind of prying to ask him about it.
