Perhaps not. I remember when I was in Edinburgh, the Sainsbury's I used to go to didn't refrigerate the eggs.

Refrigerating eggs is a US thing. We don't do it in Europe.

The US require eggs be cleaned before sold, which reduces its shelf live, so they are refrigerated. I know the UK require eggs NOT to be washed before being sold which actually does increase shelf life of the eggs, so refrigeration isn't much of a thing.

Errrh, yes 'we' do? (though it is not mandatory for supermarkets over here, not really necessary, and not a good idea to boot)
