Oh thank God. We joke about that in Indiana too, only it goes something like "Indiana! If you don't like the weather...wait ten minutes." Least that's how I've always heard it. Freakin' winter-to-spring transition is usually the worst about it.

I have my eyes set on the American Southwest myself. This last winter could have been much worse, but boooooon it nonetheless. Also welcome to forum fellow Hoosier/Sucker!

Here in Oklahoma I've heard that quote, except referring to Oklahoma instead of Indiana, attributed (probably falsely) to Will Rogers.

I've been wondering for a while just how far that saying has spread. I was sure we couldn't be the only ones with it, just like we're not the only ones who play Twenty-One basketball. Just the details might be different.

I asked Google and it says the quote is from Mark Twain and originally referred to New England, although the sources I found suggest that attribution may be suspicious as well.
