--- Quote from: Akima on 09 Apr 2013, 02:56 ---It doesn't really matter, but... The expository wall-of-text section told me, at length, what the joke was supposed to be, but then nearly all the references went completely over my head so the strip never delivered. YOLO was obvious, but otherwise the only thing I picked up was the They Live cap. A low-budget SF movie reference from 1988? How edgy!.

Trying to appeal to hipsters doesn't really appeal to anybody.

Now I want a guest strip drawn by Pintsize . . .
LittleKing:
I actually found yesterdays guest strip to be really funny. I liked how it was poking fun at all the fads and superficial aspects of the "hipster culture".

But I have no idea what any of them are, aside from what Akima mentioned, and only one of those two is associated with hipsters to me.
--- Quote from: Westrim on 08 Apr 2013, 16:18 ---Though if Akima doesn't like it, I have to agree, possibly because there are references I'm not getting. Swaggy. The pants. Cat overalls. A They Live reference. None of it works. The first panels make it clear what the parody is, but I don't understand the parody itself.

Tag team confusion!
--- Quote from: anahata on 09 Apr 2013, 03:36 ---I thought the site had been hacked... until I spotted the "Yelling bird offered to do a guest strip" explanation.
First the DDOS and then...

Yelling Birds middle name is Trolling.
