Patrick:
GUYS I played a 5 string bass without hating it for the first time last night, thanks to the song "Dirty Dishes" by Deer Tick. IT WENT SUPER LOW AND I THINK I HIT THE BROWN NOTE

--- Quote from: TheCollyWolly on 17 Oct 2013, 10:03 ---What kind of doom-sludge-brown noise would you have to be playing that would require you to get lower than F#? :psyduck: Unless you're playing a bass lick that really needs an open string for diatonics or something. The only time I ever detune my bass in my band is one song that pounds on the low D and then runs up the scale while the note rings out on the low string.

Ever hear of Bongripper?
warcabbit:
New Vox day. Not bad for $190. Anyone know how to convert it to SSC55 specs?
Patrick:
mmmmmmm she's purdy <3
Jotunheim:
Hah. I don't tune my own bass down. Least not the F# string. Our guitar player has an eight string that he keeps in drop E, but mostly if I tune the bass differently, I'll tune the B string to C to make my life easier, or A# for the song that's in drop A#.
